You say scone, I say s-cone…..I have a better idea….I’m going with rockin’ roll cakes. These are the lumber-jacks or the bomb-disposal experts of the tea-cake world (and that in itself sound friggin’ weird) – robust and manly but very much in tune with their feminine side…they will old you but they can also defend your home 🙂
Makes 5 Rockin’ Roll cakes
300grms self raising flour
1/2 cup of raisins
1 tps cinnamon
1 beaten egg
2 tbs golden syrup
90 grms cold chopped butter
200grms caster sugar
So this is how easy and ‘unfaffed’ this is –
1 sift the flour and caster sugar into a bowl and run in the butter
2 add the milk, eggs, raisins and syrup and just combine…do not work the batter!!!
3. drop 5 big table spoons of the mix onto a baking tray about 4-5 cms apart
4 bake at 170c for 15 minutes then cool on a wire rack!
Done – go Rock and Roll!
